Ladies and gentlemen there are only 9 days left to prepare for the 2nd annual Shenandoah Riverside Festival and also there are only 2 days left to get discounted presale tickets. Get em while they’re cheap. We are pumped and absolutely cannot wait to see everyone there. So far it’s calling for beautiful weather so cross your fingers and lets show Strasburg Va the time of its life. Again cheap tickets are only for 2 more days at www.shenandoahriversidefestival.com
Hey everyone check out this snazzy stuff. Minus my darn allergies giving me a fit while I’m trying to interview it sounds pretty cool.
The interview will also air on Q102, the Fox and Kiss F.M. this Sunday Morning bright and early at 7:00 A.M.
R.I.P the Dragonfly our beloved work truck
Long time no blog. I know. Things have been very busy indeed on Earth Korps’ end and I knew I was forgetting something. To fill you in of all the great things that have been going on these days I will begin by letting everyone know that there are only 2 weeks left untill the Shenandoah Riverside Festival. This thing is going to be great and word has it that our camp ground is no longer under water which is a great thing. We have recently gotten E.K. bumber or window stickers made which will be for sale at the show along with last years festival shirts and an all new feature which is completely customizable shirts this year printed on site in any color you wish including 10 different styles of tye-dye. Our beloved Dragonfly has officially blown up on us so now we are looking to get ourselves a new work truck. Hopefully after the festival we will be able to invest in something that will be able to haul much more trash for you to enjoy. The sun is out and summer is on the way folks so lets break it in right on May 6-8th. Come on out and enjoy good food, good times, and great music.
We had an amazing clean-up today that truely tested our will and our muscles. Just two of us met on the banks of the Shenandoah River today at Chapmans Landing in Edinburg. We ended up getting two very oversized pickup loads out of the river. The first load ended up being 9 bags of recyclables with 6 tires holding everything down and the second load believe it or not was 34 tires on our little truck the Dragonfly. The end weight was oddly enough the same as last weekends weight which was 1,280 pounds. We worked hard for these loads so please enjoy the pictures of how Earth Korps spent Saturday April 9th 2011.
Just a friendly reminder that there is an open to the public clean-up Saturday at 11:00 at Chapmans Landing in Edinburg for anyone who would like to join. Earth Korps is taking part in the Alice Ferguson Clean the bay Day and we really would like to have some help putting up some good numbers of pollution removed. If you come out please wear long pants, boots, and try to bring gloves and water. Trash bags and good times will be provided for you. Thanks for all the support folks.
Our 1280 pound load from Saturday
Hey there folks,
Looks like summer is on it’s a way and it also looks like our precious dragonfly made it through her surgery alright so there will be alot more river clean-up going on directly. I wanted to let everyone know that The clean-up we did on Saturday yielded us 9 more tires, another refrigerator, and alot of other fun stuff bringing our total from the day to 1,280 pounds of trash removed from one spot of the river. All of that weight was able to be recycled in some way other than about 100 pounds of just general rubbish. Thanks to everyone who supports our cause, and two other important things to be thinking about. Don’t forget that every Tuesday in April is Earth Korps night at Castiglias in Strasburg where they donate 15% of your bill back to the Shenanodah River and also there is a big public clean-up event to be held this Saturday April 9th. We will be meeting at Chapmans Landing in Edinburg and cleaning for a few hours. Come on out and have a great time with us.
Just thought I’d let everyone know that we did a river clean-up today. We do not have a count of the weight yet, but got some great pictures. Enjoy and as always thanks to everyone who supports Earth Korps.
