Well here it is folks,
This is our current line-up for the 2013 Shenandoah Riverside Festival to take place at Watermelon Park in Berryville Va on June 14th-16th. Is this all we have or do we have a few other tricks up our sleeve? Stay posted for more news and also pre sale tickets. There will be a limited number of discounted pre-sales so be sure to get yours first. Also I would be sure to get the R.V. sites well ahead of time. I have had people asking to boo k them for a month already. Word to the wise!! Enjoy. Also http://www.shenandoahriversidefestival.com should be up and running by the first of next week so don’t be shy.
I know it seems like it has been forever since we have posted. Well that’s because it has and we have been doing all kinds of awesome stuff over the past month to get Earth Korps geared up and ready for this spring.
for starters we have finally got our line-up finalized for the 2013 Shenandoah Riverside Festival and are updating our website http://www.shenandoahriversidefestival.com as we speak to bring everyone up to date with this years bands and early bird ticket sale specials. I can guarantee that you do not want to miss this years line-up. We will be announcing bands as we go along from now until the festival hits starting with last years late night favorite- HOLY GHOST TENT REVIVAL!! Who if you remembered correctly were the guys that had you dancing yourselves silly all night long.
Were no even close to being done so stay tuned on that note and be sure to check out http://www.shenandoahriversidefestival.com in the next week or so to see the new flyer and other updates as well.
We are also getting ready to open the slots for our 2013 craft and food vendors for the Shenandoah Riverside Festival. By the way, this is to take place on June 14th and 15th this year at Watermelon Park. If you would like to be considered for one of these spot please send an e-mail to email@example.com
We are now Seeking SPONSORS for the 2013 Shenandoah Riverside Festival. If you would like to be considered please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org There are some great perks to being a sponsor this year other than just having your companies name posted everywhere. We will be having other incentives such as free tickets and close parking, things to that nature so send us an email. We’d love to have you.
We had some great news in that we have been approved for a 3 year stay at Watermelon Park which is a huge deal and will ensure the success and growth of the festival and of Earth Korps at least for the next 3 years haha.
We are in the process of writing some great grants and planning some awesome river cleans for this spring so keep your ears and eyes posted on those. We are going to try to get more youth groups involved this year such as boy scouts or church youth groups. If you have any affiliation with any of these types of groups on the Shenandoah River and would like for your kids to get a first hand lesson in environmental appreciation please send an e-mail to email@example.com and we will arrange a river clean for them to take place in in 2013.
Also we would just like to continue to thank all of those who have supported and stand by the mission of cleaning up the Shenandoah River and we will continue to do as much as we can to help this great natural resource!
Thought I would let you all know that Captain Billy’s Seafood in Woodstock VA hasagreed to donate 10% of all profits from this coming weekends sales back to Earth Korps Inc. So go on in there and get yourself some good food fresh from the Chesapeake. Makes sense, the Shenandoah does end up right where they pull their food from. A great example of how and why we should all be working together in the name of conservation of our local watersheds.
We are coming into our planning season here soon so you won’t see quite as much activity from Earth Korps, but don’t worry we’re still hard at it and will keep you up to date on upcoming river cleans and events. Speaking of river cleans, why not come out and help Friends of the North Fork do one of their annual cleans here soon on October 27th. More details to come. Stay posted! As always, thanks to all of those who support their local river clean up company in one way or another it’s entirely due to our fans that we are able to do what we do.
Hope you all came out to the Belgravia Beer fest to benefit Earth Korps. I was a great time and we had a good turnout, so if you weren’t there you better make sure to make it next time. You don’t know what you’re missing. I should have some pictures coming very soon, and in fact there are a few on Facebook taken by others that I will post.
In other news we have a big project going on right now in Front Royal where riverton dam used to be. You will notice a sign that teh site is closed due to construction right now. We are a part of putting in a new boat ramp and re vamping the whole area to better suit foot traffic and vehicle traffic alike. When we are finished there should be a permanant bathroom fixture there and also a dumpster to keep the place cleaner. There are some great companies kicking in for this project and I will be sure to mention them when I get the full list of contributors. Untill then though I would like to thank all who are involved and wish them good luck in turning this project into a success.
This should keep us busy for a while, but if we get some other projects such as river cleans in the near future you will be the first to know.
As always we are looking for sponsors and folks to support the mission of this organization without the folks that take a more active approach in this organization we would not exist. If you would like to become a sponsor of Earth Korps Inc please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
We are also knee deep in planning next years Shenandoah Riverside Festival and trust me it is going to be a doozy. Stay tuned for more of that and thanks to all of you who support the Shenandoah River and our mission to see her back to health.

We’ve been hard at it trying to get these fundraisers all planned out and also planning some great cleans and other events that Earth Korps will be attending here soon. I’ve just gotten the updated flyer for the beerfest and I also would be looking for discount presale tickets online soon. Keep your eyes peeled. You never know what Earth Korps might be up to next.
Well folks it looks like our last clean yielded another 600 pounds of trash from the ol Shenandoah. That puts us over the 50,000 pounds mark. We are looking to get back on the river very soon. We’ve got the Murrays Fly Shop Anniversary this weekend on Saturday but perhaps we can pull something out for Sunday. Hope for good weather. The water level is also up right now which makes hard cleaning, but makes for good floating so get yourself out there and get on the water. Don’t forget to get tickets to Murrays Fly Shop Anniversary. How do you get tickets you ask? Simply show up at Murrays Fly Shop in Edinburg Saturday and buy one. $15 bucks gets you access to Sals food, the Shakedown Band and Complementary drinks. Come on out and enjoy. We’ll also be doing some 50/50 raffles of E.K. Swag. See you there!
Sorry for the long pause. E.K. has been super busy planning your next big music festival for you. We can’t wait to see you out there with us in Berryville. Tickets will go on sale later today and I will re-blog with the link. Remember we only have 499 early bird discounted spots available and trust me they are going to go fast so make sure you get them while you can. We’ll talk to you soon!!
I’ve got some great news. The 2012 Riverside Festival is underway and we are expecting quite a turnout. We have been working very hard with the people at Watermelon Park to ensure that this year is something else. We have also decided to open up the fundraiser and let any non-profit that is representing the environment be welcome to set up a booth at the festival to preach on their cause. We want the riverside festival to be huge and why not get as much educational material out there as possible. So if you are involved with an environmental nonprofit or know someone who is please e-mail your interest to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get you set up. Also I suppose I should release a few of our bands to you. We have so far the legendary….
Allen Thompson Band
Jake and The Burtones
Steal the Prize
That should be enough of a teaser for right now. The pictures are linked to the bands websites. Check em out and get ready because tickets go on sale March 1st. Tell all your friends, tell all your non-profits
I figured as we get further into this festival planning thing I’d go ahead and let you listen to the submissions I’m getting and decide who you really want to hear this year. I’ve gotten quite a few already and I’ll post a new one every few days. Without further adue here is the Luke Johnson Band. If you love their music then drop us an opinion on facebook about it.
P.S. We have just gotten word of an incredible grant opportunity that the winner gets voted on by the public so get ready to do your part for the river. All I need is a vote from each and every one of you.
